The Rokon Trailbreaker for Preppers… My grandpa was an inventor, and an engineer. In his basement he had a crowded machine shop where he could turn any idea into reality. As a kid, the shop looked like it was simply full of junk, but as I got older, I grew to appreciate the place. One day, I don’t even remember what it was, something on my motorcycle or snowmobile broke. I took it over to my grandpa’s house to see if he could help me fix it. My parents probably thought it was a lost cause, but may have figured it would give me some time to spend with grandpa.

As he looked at the broken part, he became quiet. Then he walked over to a wooden crate which was stuffed on the bottom shelf of some steel racking he had obviously welded himself. After pulling some other items out of the way, he rummaged through the box and found what he was looking for. Then he went to work fixing whatever I had broken.

While his shop looked like an absolute disaster to anyone walking in, he knew where every bolt, piece of wire, and odd shaped chunk of metal was. And he kept everything. He wasn’t a hoarder though, the things he kept “might be of use one day”, and most of it was. When he died, the shop was full of a lot of “what could have been”.

My grandma on the other hand, was a little more tidy. In their basement she had a room, maybe four feet by six, which was full of peaches, apricots, tomatoes, and other things she had bottled at home over the years. When the grandkids were hungry, she’d open a jar of peaches, put some cottage cheese on top, and we had a nice, healthy snack.

At the time, I didn’t realize what I was learning from these two amazing people who had lived through the great depression. They never really preached to me to “be prepared”, but they always had what they needed, right there in their home. Their example taught me a lot, and in my own garage I have a big bucket full of screws, bolts, nuts, and washers, just like my grandpa had “just in case I need a bolt one day”.

To say that someone is prepared is to say, in a round about way, that the person is responsible. If you are prepared, you don’t become a burden on others, spend money unnecessarily, or worry as much when life goes a little nuts. When you are prepared, you can help others in time of need. If you are prepared, there is less worry, anxiety and stress when the world twists and turns as it does from time to time. Nobody can ever be prepared for everything. But it seems that those who prepare how they can, are always better off than those who never tried in the first place. Wikepedia has this to say, about that: Survivalism is a social movement of individuals or groups (called survivalists or preppers) who proactively prepare for emergencies, including natural disasters, as well as disruptions to social, political, or economic order.

In the world we live in, we need more people who are proactively prepared. Every person, family, and organization has different needs. For some, having a stockpile of steel and odd shaped chunks of metal may seem unnecessary. To another, a small room full of food may not fit their nomad lifestyle. And to others, buying a Rokon two-wheel drive Trailbreaker, made specifically for Prepper’s may not be the right fit.

But if you are one of those who can see yourself needing a vehicle that can go almost anywhere during an emergency, or even on a peaceful sunny day, then the Rokon Trailbreaker for Preppers is a great vehicle to consider. What sets this two-wheel drive motorcycle apart from Rokon’s other models of motorcycle is how it is equipped. From the factory, all six Rokon motorcycles are EMP (electro magnetic pulse) proof. They can all cross about two feet fo water, climb a 60% grade, tow 2,000 lbs, and haul 600 lbs on the frame. They are all two wheel drive, ride on ATV tires, and can go basically anywhere you point them. And every model (except the Scout) has hollow drum-style wheels that can hold up to 2.5 gallons of liquid, and each (except the Scout) has the advantage of front suspension. This means more fuel or water onboard, and the possible difference between life and death in a real bug-out situation.

On top of all these amazing standard features, the Trailbreaker for Preppers sets itself apart with a beautiful all-black finish, upgraded headlight, 12V charging port, saddle bags, onboard maintenance kit, and basic survival kit which includes a metal water container, cooking containers, survival knife with magnesium fire starter, solar blanket, LED headlamp, compass, rope and water proof matches, all of which is fitted neatly into the onboard saddlebags. Like most Rokon two-wheel drive motorcycles, the Trailbreaker for Preppers rides on Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 ATV tires.

With its “do anything” attitude, the Rokon Trailbreaker for Preppers is a great vehicle to consider for recreation, and especially for emergencies. The Rokon Trailbreaker for Preppers survival kit was customized by Dave Canterberry, TV Host of Dual Survivor and Dirty Rotten Survival. He is also the author of New York Times best seller Bushcraft 10l: A Field Guide to the Art of Wilderness Survival.
